Together with his wife—company president and CEO Jo Staffelbach Heinz—Swiss-born Andre Staffelbach runs Staffelbach, the interior design and architecture firm he founded in 1966. The Dallas-based company has had a number of high-profile clients over the years, including the likes of American Airlines, Café Pacific, Frost Bank, Hunt Petroleum, Mobil Oil, and Boston Consulting. Staffelbach, who in 1988 was inducted into the International Interior Design Hall of Fame, says he spends about a third of his time getting “my thoughts together” in his Uptown office, which is filled with artifacts, literature, artwork, and furnishings he’s collected during a lifetime of travel. His desk, Staffelbach adds, is a “very old design by USM Haller of Switzerland.” It works for him, he adds, because of its large surface area.
