Waffles

What The Owner Says: Waffles is the best of both his breeds (Dachshund and Chihuahua) with his pretty dapple coat and Chihuahua snout with the Doxie bump. His ears can’t decide whether they want to point straight up or just relax and hang low. My favorite feature: his two different color eyes. He was the runt of his litter that someone had tossed in a box along the freeway. I had lost my sweet Chihuahua, Taco, just a month earlier, and wasn’t looking for another pup, because I was still grieving. But when I saw the pictures of Waffles and his brothers and read their rescue story, my heart and my head told me to go and ‘take a look.’ When I went to his foster home, his two brothers came running out, both vying for my attention. Little Waffles hung back. I played with the brothers for awhile and then Waffles came up to me, looked up at me, let out a little sigh, and snuggled down in my lap. It was the beginning of a love story. He started out as a momma’s boy and still is. He’s my little shadow. He has a quirky personality that matches his unique looks. His favorite things are stealing treats from his Catahoula sister, barking at bad dancing, his skull sweater, and Cheez-Its.
