Hot Property: A Contemporary Loft on Cedar Springs Road

The phrase “industrial chic” isn’t a stranger to real estate listings. The image is meant to be a loft straight out of New York City, with an exposed brick wall, brushed concrete floors, and soaring ceilings. Most of the time, the listings are disappointing. Sure, there might be one or two interesting features, but one exposed pipe does not a loft make.

Today’s Hot Property, however, did not disappoint. This condo at 2011 Cedar Springs Road is brimming with industrial details, but it also has that effortlessly cool je ne sais quoi that I’d been hoping for.

You’ll first notice that the loft has an art gallery vibe. Its crisp white walls would feel bare without paintings and prints, as would the nooks and shelves that currently display a sculpture collection.

The lower level has an open floorplan that would be ideal for entertaining. The kitchen is clad in chrome and the subtle white appliances fit its minimalist aesthetic. A midcentury-inspired bar is tucked into a corner, while a wine rack fits snugly under the staircase.

The mirrored wall in the dining area creates the illusion of infinite space, as do the 20-foot windows that offer a glimpse of the neighboring high-rises. There’s an even better view from the patio; you’ll also find a built-in barbecue and plenty of space to lounge.

Upstairs, the home feels cozier as the ceilings get lower. Both bedrooms have industrial accents, like brushed concrete floors or overhead pipes, and the bathrooms boast plenty of counter space and on-trend tile showers.

This loft’s Uptown location is hard to beat. Future residents will live within walking distance to the American Airlines Center, the Harwood District, and Klyde Warren Park. The complex also features a community pool, a dog park, and an outdoor kitchen.
