We’ll gladly take any excuse to make weekend plans at Highland Park Village. The National Historic Landmark has something for everyone and offers unbeatable ambience. If the outdoor shopping center elicits similar feelings of happiness and warmth in you, you’re going to want to put this on your calendar: Garden & Gun magazine will be hosting a “Southern Shop-Around” at Highland Park Village next Friday and Saturday, September 18-19. The event is packed with incentives, discounts, complimentary cocktails, treats, and memorable experiences to keep you entertained all weekend long.

The two-day event kicks off with a screening of “Ovation of Oscar,” the posthumous documentary short of legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, produced by Savanna College of Art & Design. Screenings will continue throughout the weekend at the Highland Park Village Theatre, along with a Low Country brunch with James Beard-nominated Kevin Johnson of The Grocery in Charleston.
