2209 Allen Street

{Neighborhood: Uptown}

Going off of the photos alone, I would probably guess this cool, contemporary home was located in the exotic land of Los Angeles, but alas, my assumption would be false. This bright, spacious oasis can be found right here in Dallas, in the State Thomas area of Uptown to be exact. There’s a pool of course, plus a positively massive garage, lots of marble and stainless steel, and custom lighting. I’m intrigued by this house, but mostly, I’m dying to know who is living there. A quick study of the slideshow on Ebby.com reveals an owner or owners who are not afraid of bold colors and cool cars. They like books and interesting art. But more importantly, they have two pianos in the living room. TWO pianos! What’s the deal? Do two pianists duel in this home on Sundays? If anyone finds out, please tell me. I’ll be lying awake at night pondering about it until you do.

3441 University Boulevard

{Neighborhood: University Park}

University Boulevard is packed with swoon-worthy, history-filled homes, but this one certainly deserves a nod. Originally named The Dickinson House after an early theology professor at SMU, the Texas Regional Style home features bricks from the Fort Worth stockyards, a large screened in porch, rows of French doors and a slate fireplace. All of this is to say that whoever lives here could absolutely get away with saying phrases like, “oh my stars!” and “nervous as a long-tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs!” And really, isn’t that the point of buying any home?

By the Numbers

  • $1,450,000
  • 4,393 Square Feet
  • 5 Bedrooms
  • 4.1 Bathrooms
  • 3 Garage Spaces

805 Kessler Woods Trail

{Neighborhood: Kessler Woods}

Of course this cool, beautiful home is located in the Oak Cliff’s equally cool, beautiful Kessler Woods neighborhood. You know the one; it’s adjacent to flourishing little areas such as Bishop Arts and Trinity Groves. The hip hood is home to many a gorgeous modern abode, including 805 Kessler Woods Trail, a custom built, 3,762 square foot house situated on a roomy hillside lot. The location also offers some stunning scenery courtesy of 12 Hills Nature Center. Not surprisingly, the interior is just as clean and wonderful as the exterior. Not that $1.5 million is chump change by any means, but this modern oasis is pretty solid proof that you can get some serious bang for your buck in Oak Cliff.

By the Numbers

  • $1,500,000
  • 3,762 Square Feet
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 4.1 Bathrooms
