A slice of sophisticated style.

Neighborhood: Highland Park

If you’re a fan of Blue Print, the lovely little home furnishings shop on Fairmount Street, I can all but guarantee that you will fall madly, truly, and deeply in love with 4611 Belclaire Avenue. Recently taken to the studs, added on and rebuilt by Cynthia Collins, owner of Collins Interiors and one of the tastemakers behind Blue Print, this Highland Park home is dressed head to toe in Collins’ signature sophisticated style. Think pretty prints, a soft palette and, of course, the occasional modern artwork displayed in a perfectly well-lit room.

38007034-6The house is reminiscent of Collins’ own Park Cities home; you’ll even find the same piece of art hanging in both. At her own home, Collins is the sole female in a family of five. Which is to say that just because this home may lean towards the daintier side doesn’t mean that a manly man couldn’t get comfortable amidst the soft surroundings. Plus, there’s still plenty of space for them to add their own personal touches.

But seeing as I am the sole female in a household of one (plus a cat), I see a space that’s begging for butterfly wall mountings by Jennifer Prichard, a cool bohemian cowhide rug, and an ever-changing parade of flowers throughout. Sorry, manly men.
