Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,582 new COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths on Friday.


There were 3,468 hospitalized COVID-19 patients in North Texas on Sunday, taking up nearly 25 percent of total beds. There are 38 ICU beds available in the region, DFW Hospital Council CEO Steve Love reports.


President Biden’s new initiative says that employers with more than 100 people have to require a COVID-19 vaccine or regular COVID-19 testing. The new initiative is estimated to impact 100 million Americans, or about two-thirds of all workers in the country. Learn more with the Dallas Morning News.


Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing six school districts for requiring students, teachers, employees, and visitors to wear face masks while on campus in defiance of  Gov. Greg Abbott’s ban on requiring masks. They include the Elgin, Galveston, Richardson, Round Rock, Sherman and Spring school districts. KERA has more.
