Things To Do In Dallas Tonight: Nov. 4

Cute.
Cute.

Have you seen the cookbook D put together? It’s beautiful. You need one.

Lo and behold, something decent to do on a Monday. A post-holiday Monday, no less. Radiolab is coming to Grand Prairie for a live broadcast of the program called “Apocalyptical.” Doomsday scenarios are a well-documented fascination, obviously, especially at the movies. Humans have been killed off (or at least significantly decimated) by everything from aliens to epidemics to the Blob. Hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich will focus on endings, fast and slow, mixing storytelling and science with a live musical score from On Fillmore, an acoustic bass and percussion duo, and Noveller, a solo guitar project. You can still get tickets online.

Also tonight, the author Elizabeth Gilbert will present her a new book about the daughter of a wealthy botanist at the Highland Park Methodist Church. The Signature of All Things is a work of fiction, but Gilbert achieved peak saturation with her memoir Eat, Pray, Meet a Guy Eventually Played by Javier Bardem. Love, I mean. That’s the word I’m looking for. There’s a reception at 6 p.m. that costs $30 to attend, but the actually book talk will begin at 7 p.m. and it’s free.
