If you prefer a more solid set of plans, the Dallas Center for Architecture hosts a conversation about architecture and education. A recent issue of the architecture magazine Columns (heh) examined the future of the industry from a variety of academic angles, with the question “Does architecture really matter?” in mind. The editor of the magazine will moderate a conversation with UNT design research center director Keith Owens, dean of UTA’s School of Architecture Don Gatzke, and American Society of Landscape Artist member Kevin Sloan about their articles and the challenges architecture faces.
Elsewhere, opera fans can catch the final showing of Teatro alla Scala’s production of La Traviata at the Angelika Dallas. It’s one of those high-def recordings of a live production. The tragic tale of a courtesan who risks everything for true is also three acts long. So maybe eat something before.
