Yesterday I brought word of the short staff at Eatzi’s, where immigrants fearful of a federal crackdown have fled the grocery. Today, an about-town FBvian says the Eatzi’s staff isn’t the only one fleeing.
Apparently INS did a roundup at the W hotel/Victory construction site. Buses and everything…Consequently, several construction sites downtown came to a virtual standstill yesterday since other workers heard about the raid and decided to take some time off. I looked in the DMN this morning. Not a peep.
