Eureka! Dallas opens today at the corner of McKinney and Blackburn, under the shadow of the Mondrian. The restaurant, which got its start in California, has worked its way up the west coast with 12 California locations and one in Seattle. This is the chain’s first Texas space, and they plan to expand into Austin next year.

The bar is shaking up “All-American” spirits (with the exception of a non-American tequila). Their “signature drink,” is the old fashioned made with Old Overholt rye whiskey, bitters, orange zest and ice. Other highlights include the mint julep and the Rosemary’s Ruby Red with gin, rosemary and grapefruit. There are 40 craft draft beers, 20 of which are rotating, two wines on tap and 40 small batch American whiskeys.

The restaurant’s expansive menu is sectioned off into eight parts: starters, salads, daily soups, tacos, signatures, burgers, sides and desserts. Features include the Fresno fig burger with fig marmalade, goat cheese and bacon, the golden ale mussels with jalapeño bacon stock, crispy pancetta and golden ale beer, and the all-day breakfast burrito.

Happy hour runs from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to close, seven days a week. Drink specials include $2 off all beer and wine (with the exception of the rotating beers), and $2 off Buffalo Trace and Dripping Springs Vodka cocktails.

Eureka! is open from 11 a.m. until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
