In-N-Out on Central in Dallas to Open in Less Than 48 Hours

Our sistah-pub Park Cities People has the news: “If you live anywhere near the intersection of Caruth Haven and Central Expressway, prepare yourself: In-N-Out Burger is opening at 9 a.m. Thursday. That’s according to a memo that was sent to the tenants of 8080 North Central Expressway, the high-rise just north of the fast-food joint. The memo details how much security the restaurant will have on hand, and how the restaurant’s staff has assured the high-rise’s management that tenant parking will not be disrupted. IRVINE, CA — In 1948, Harry and Esther Snyder founded In-N-Out Burger, California’s first “drive-thru” hamburger stand.  Today, hamburgers are still made-to-order, shakes are still made with real ice cream and In-N-Out associates are still treated like family.  Beginning June 23, 2011, In-N-Out hamburgers, shakes and fries will be served in Texas at our newest location in Dallas.

As with all locations, fresh ingredients will be supplied to the restaurants from In-N-Out.  Hamburger patties are made from 100% pure American beef and whole chucks are boned and ground by In-N-Out’s own butchers.  All patties are produced and delivered fresh throughout the week to the restaurants and are never frozen.  French fries are made from fresh, whole potatoes and are hand diced.  A warehouse and a state-of-the art patty production facility have been established in Dallas that will allow In-N-Out to serve all of Texas.

Stephen Kirk, who has been a veteran of In-N-Out for 20 years, will manage the new restaurant located at 7940 N. Central Expressway.  The restaurant will employ approximately 60 In-N-Out Burger Associates with a starting wage of $10 per hour.  There will be one drive-thru lane, with seating for 99 guests.  All In-N-Out Burger locations are open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and until 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

In-N-Out has locations throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Texas.  In-N-Out expects to open 10-12 locations in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex within the next 12 months.  In-N-Out is still owned and operated by the Snyder family and none of the units are franchised.

    The lines are still being managed in Allen by the police. I don’t get it. We succumbed and it was awful. The fries are disgusting. I will take Whataburger anyday over that place.

    Yep. In-N-Out is known for paying a much more fair wage than their fast food competitors.

    I live literally a quarter mile from Caruth & 75 and as much as I love a good Double-Double-Animal, I am lamenting this opening. My “hood” is going to become a zoo of burger fiends.

    The burgers are good cause the sponge bread but better fries exist almost anywhere, but not worth the wait that still exists during lunch (typical minimum of 1+ hours)

    In & Out is OK… I really don’t see what the hubbub is about them, though. Griff’s has, to my very experienced hamburger-eating palate, a far superior burger to In & Out.

    People should know that if you exit Caruth Haven from Central, you can’t get to In-N-Out with out going way around and back down Greenville Ave to Southwestern and then down the service road past Chipotle and Chick-Fil-A. You are better off to exit Lovers Lane from Central in either direction. (I think I got that right, it is Southwestern, not Lovers that you have to go back down to, right?)

    There is a secret way…which I am loathe to give away, but will anyway. From Greenville North bound, turn left on to Caruth Haven, and look for the immediate left into the back parking lot of whatever the office building is next to In-N-Out. It is a very steep and bumpy driveway, but it takes you to the back of the drive through area and parking lot. If your vehicle is lowered (d-bagged) or doesn’t do well with inclines, don’t try it, you will get stuck. I am also thinking the cops will have this entrance closed off on opening day, as well they should, but in the future it is a very handy little bit of info to have.

    It appears that all posters on this ‘comment’ segment have not a clue as to the negative impacts that will inevitably result due to the opening of this franchised location.

    The burgers suck, and every (woman…and man) in this city will flock to this joint in the weeks to come — seeking NOT one of the awful burgers churned out by In & Out — but rather a subsequent, soon-to-be-issued, statement (published, or otherwise)…consisting, generally, of, ‘Oh yeah — I was one of the first people there. GREAAAAAAT burger. Now — take a look at my hot car.” SCOREBOARD!

    Get off of the road.

    The “driveway behind our building” is the secret entrance I’m talking about.

    My wife and I gave in to the hype and drove up to the burbs to try out In-n-out, but I’m sorry to say, I wasn’t impressed. I don’t know what everyon’s facination is? The frys tasted nasty! The burgers were good, but honestly, I can get just as good, if not better, burger at Whataburger or steak and shake. And I think braums has the best burgers in town for a fast food joint, much better than in-n-out.

    I am and am not excited about this. I live very close and it’s going to make getting anywhere a pain, but I do love the food. It’s funny that you mention Steak and Shake, because that’s what used to be in the location that In and Out is using.

    Have you tried Mooyah? Fresh cut potatoes daily for their fries cooked in trans fat free oil….custom baked buns, 100% beef burgers never frozen, no additives preservitives or fillers. Top it off with an ICE CREAM Shake! My favorite burger place fo’sho

    Wow! Is Dallas so humdrum that folks go all giddy over the opening of a hamburger joint? Remember when Krispy Cream donuts came to town? People actually camped out all night to be first in line. I gotta repeat. WOW!

    Do yourselves a favor and go to Ketchup Burger Bar on Hall St. and have a ground lamb burger. That’s what a real burger should be.
