Samplings From Spain at The Grape: Part 2

|

I had the pleasure of enjoying the May wine dinner “Samplings From Spain”  Sunday night at The Grape.  A three course meal paired with wine provided by a relatively new Dallas distributor, New Age Wines, which focuses on small production, family owned wineries (a big favorite of mine.)

The menu was rustic, traditional fare.  In speaking with Chef/Owner Brian Luscher, his goal for these wine dinners is to make the wine the star.  This is often done with classic dishes from the featured region, prepared simply with a focus on flavor.  Favorites of the night included clams and shrimp in a garlic, chorizo, parsley sauce with the clean, citrus flavors of 100% Nessa Albarino, and fruit forward El Curato Tinta de Toro with overnight red wine braised beef short ribs.  Can’t wait to see what is on the menu next month.
