CVE Technology Group, based in Riverdale, New Jersey, has moved its corporate headquarters to Allen. The company, an after-market service provider for cellular handsets and consumer electronics, has taken occupancy of about 40 percent of its 196,000-square-foot office at 915 Enterprise Boulevard, which also houses its service center.
About 300 CVE employees work out of the facility; the company expects to have 600 on board by the end of this year and 1,200 on board by the end of 2015. It’s averaging 20 new hires a week, with growth being driven by new and expanded contracts with cell phone carriers.
The company chose North Texas because its the “epicenter of cell phone growth and activity,” said Ruben Alvarado, vice president of CVE. “All of the top carriers along with all of the top (original equipment manufacturers) are here,” he said. “Even if their headquarters are located elsewhere, their hubs and inventory most definitely are here.”
CVE also has a national receiving center in Plano and service centers in Fort Worth and Riverdale.
At full employment, the company will rank among the largest employers in Allen, said Dan Bowman, executive director and CEO of the Allen Economic Development Corp. Other tenants at Enterprise Business Park include Experian Information Solutions, Frontier Communications, and Jack Henry & Associates. The four employ a total of 2,500 workers.
George Tanghongs, director at Lee & Associates, represented the landlord, IndCor Properties, in the CVE deal.
“The city of Allen was very accommodating and responsive,” Tanghongs said in a statement. “The whole process took two months and, ultimately, it came down to the right property, right location, and the right incentives Allen offered.”
