Clay Smith and Mark Newman have joined Jones Lang LaSalle’s retail tenant brokerage group, where they will serve as executive vice president and senior vice president, respectively. Both previously worked for The Staubach Co., which was merged into JLL in 2008, and at SRS Real Estate Partners, which was spun off from Staubach as a separate retail brokerage after the JLL merger.

In a statement, Roger Staubach, executive chairman JLL, praised the duo and said the firm is committed to expanding its Dallas operations.

Smith and Newman have worked together for nearly three decades. During that time, Smith held executive posts at Staubach, SRS, and owned his own firm. Newman most recently served as executive vice president of SRS, where he helped In-N-Out Hamburgers open its first 19 restaurants in North Texas.

The duo will work with JLL’s retail market lead, Geno Coradini.
