Dallas-based staffing company AMN Healthcare has been named to the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for the sixth year in a row. The index scores publicly-traded companies on five different categories, which include female leadership, equal pay, an inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brands. At AMN, 69 percent of employees are women, as is the CEO and 56 percent of the board of directors.
Krysla Karlix has been named chief executive officer for Medical City Green Oaks. She has been a part of the executive team at the hospital since December 2016. Karlix will be responsible for patient operations at Medical City Green Oaks, which includes the 124-bed inpatient hospital, two outpatient clinics, 24-hour psychiatric services, and telepsychiatry services.
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth has received accreditation from Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Center of Excellence in hernia surgery. The SRC recognized the hospital for its high standard of patient care and safety. The hospital is the first in North Texas to receive the accreditation. Additionally, five surgeons and four physicians from the hospital were also recognized as Accredited Surgeons of Excellence.
Through the 2022 Fab Over 40 competition, Colossal Management has raised over $7.4 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, based in Texas. The foundation has provided more than 192,000 mammograms and more than 240,000 breast health education services, over the last decade, to women in need.
The Doswell Foundation awarded a four-million-dollar grant to the Nexus Recovery Center. The grant will go toward building a new medical facility on the Nexus campus to help combat the increased use of fentanyl within the DFW. The Doswell Medical Building is scheduled to break ground in 2023 and will allow Nexus to expand harm reduction services to women and their families. The new building will replace the existing Doswell Detox Center and is meant to provide a main point of entry for clients and visitors to Nexus. Additionally, Nexus’ Medicated Assisted Treatment program, a medical room for patient services, physician exam rooms, and the Rebecca Crowell Medical Detox wing will all be housed within the new building.
The Dallas Fort Worth Hope Hearing and Tinnitus Center is set to open on World Hearing Day, Friday, March 3rd. The new treatment center is the second location of Dr. Beki Kellogg’s hearing improvement practice. The new center will help residents with individualized hearing treatment plans. About 20 percent of the adult population in the U.S. are affected with Tinnitus.
