Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 556 new COVID-19 cases and 9 deaths on Friday.

CDC endorses all three COVID-19 boosters, WFAA reports. The Pfizer or Moderna booster is encouraged starting six months past their second vaccination. The J&J booster is recommended at least two months after their single-shot vaccination.

CDC updates eligibility requirements for booster shots, KERA reports. Pfizer and Moderna boosters are encouraged by the CDC for individuals 65 or older, who are nursing home residents, or at least 50 and at high-risk of severe COVID. Boosters are allowed but not urged for people over 18 at increased risk of infection due to health issues, their jobs or living conditions. The Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 booster is recommended for people over 18 vaccinated over two months ago.

Pfizer states their COVID-19 vaccine is over 90% effective in children 5 to 11, The Dallas Morning News reports. The Biden administration has purchased enough Pfizer’s kid-sized COVID vaccine doses for roughly 28 million children. If the vaccine is cleared by the FDA and CDC next week, vaccines will be promptly shipped across the country.
