Today, readers, let’s take a trip to Devonshire, one of the most coveted neighborhoods in Dallas. This quaint, charming little corner of the city is filled with 1950s homes, neatly manicured lawns, and decades-old trees.

Though nearly every home in Devonshire is lovely, 8209 Chadbourne Road is on another level. This beautiful build was completed in 2019; its façade is traditional enough to fit in but contemporary enough to stand out. We love the rich wood accents, like the front door and above-garage trellis, that contrast with the bright white brick and dark gray roof.

Inside, the sunny, clean-lined aesthetic is complemented by herringbone wood floors that offer a touch of femininity. Cased wall openings create a subtle division between each room, though the floor plan is mostly open.

The heart of the home is the spacious living room, which features built-in wood shelves, French doors, and a dove-gray stone mantel. The nearby kitchen is sleek and warm, with a blend of matte white and wood accents. A white geometric backsplash and gleaming gold faucet add a bit of sparkle to the space.

Each of the four bedrooms is serene, thanks to icy white walls and simple fixtures. The bathrooms, too, are calming, with gray-flecked marble tiling and standalone bathtubs. (Be sure to check out the master bath’s walk-in shower, which is remarkably roomy.)

Finally, we arrive at the backyard. Its landscaping is far from intricate, but can you really beat the ease of a thick and well-kept lawn? There’s also a covered sitting area with an outdoor fireplace to encourage year-round outdoor dining. Greenery grows freely at the top of the fence, cementing the backyard’s secluded feel.
