The ClassPass for Blowouts Just Landed in Dallas

Busy people, meet Prête, your new favorite beauty app.

Last May, beauty concierge app Prête launched in Los Angeles and San Francisco, offering exclusive, member-only deals for blowouts at top hair salons around town. They also created a waiting list on their website, allowing potential users across the country to nominate their city for Prête consideration. The cry for convenient hair styling from Dallas was considerable.

After launching the app in Nashville, Chicago, and Orange County, Prête has finally arrived in Dallas (in beta mode). Here’s everything you need to know before you download.

WHY DO I NEED IT?

The coolest aspects of Prête are exclusive discounts and discovery. It’s basically ClassPass or StudioHop for blowouts. You get to try out a slew of salons (all hand-picked and vetted by the Prête team) at a solid discount. Buy one service for $35, three for $99 ($33 per blowout), and five for $145 ($29 per blowout). All are a steal considering Drybar and Bam Beauty Bar’s $45 base price. If you simply refuse to ever wash your own hair (that’s fair), monthly memberships run for $169.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The app is perfect for women on the go or anyone who likes to book a last-minute blowout. Partnering salons allow Prête to book their empty chairs, so you don’t have to worry about making an appointment way in advance. “You can walk by the best, busiest salon in Los Angeles at any time of day, and there will always be empty chairs,” says founder and CEO Nina Ojeda. “Most of our bookings happen around four days out.”

WHERE CAN YOU BOOK?

Though there are only a handful of local salons (including  Voss SalonRossi + King, and Craft & Company Salon) available to for bookings at the moment, that number should be increasing shortly.

TELL ME SOMETHING RANDOM AND COOL.

A portion of all Prête proceeds is donated to the Johns Hopkins University program to end animal testing, so your blowout is benefiting more than just your look.
