Dallas Keeps Its Queen, But What About the Housewives?

The crime drama Queen of the South will return for a second season, but what about the other Dallas-set show starring vengeful women making poor life decisions?

USA has renewed its gritty Dallas-set crime drama Queen of the South for a second season, ensuring fans will get at least a dozen more episodes of drug war violence and romantic complications worthy of the program’s telenovela roots.

If you’ve been following our recaps of the show, you’ll know this is a good thing. While Queen of the South isn’t the Breaking Bad-esque prestige drama USA may have been hoping for, it’s an only kind-of-guilty good time. And it hopefully means that Queen of the South will continue to film in Dallas. We’re just happy to see the city featured in fiction that has nothing to do with either the JFK assassination or a wealthy oil family.

Speaking of fiction set in Dallas, the future of another show starring vengeful women making poor life decisions remains in limbo. While Bravo hasn’t officially put the kibosh on more Real Housewives of Dallas, the low-rated program has yet to be renewed for a second season.

We’ll always have Charity World.
