Friday Happy Makers: A Balenciaga Vest, Marion Deuchar’s New Book, Wigwam at Oil and Cotton, and More

It’s Friday (a happy maker in and of itself), and it’s my birthday (double happy), so what better way to celebrate than by sharing four things further making my day. Herewith the happymakers, clockwise from top.

  1. Local scent savant Niven Morgan’s lovely Jean Baptiste soap. It’s so pretty I’m not sure I’d even open it…I’d just sit around gazing at all that pleated white paper/red wax seal goodness.
  2. Hanh’s wearable work-of-art Balenciaga vest. Smitten. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
  3. This review of Marion Deuchars’ Let’s Make Some Great Fingerprint Art sent to me by lovely former intern Caitlin Giddens (she’s still good that one). My girlies have Marion’s first book, and they love it. This latest one is officially on the wish list.
  4. The fact that the (excellent) Wigwam pop-up shop is back at Oil and Cotton through Saturday (think: beautiful handmade goods, leather crafts, sculpture, vintage objects, art, jewelry). It’s good stuff friends… You won’t want to miss it.

Bonus: You must read Alice Laussade’s post about The Elf On The Shelf (a.k.a. the bane of my existence). Preach it Alice. Thanks Tim.
