Tory Burch Spring 09:Garden Party

Tory Burch Spring 09 CollectionOne of the many shows I attended yesterday was a presentation of Tory Burch’s spring collection. The designer was inspired by both interiors and exteriors of homes and the “way woman live as a whole”. The collection was shown in three parts, each inspired by a different garden, one of which was Yves Saint Laurent‘s famous Moroccan desert oasis. The designer told us that she expects the pink and coral (color is everywhere on the spring runways) items will do particularly well in Dallas. The shoes and accessories are often what I gravitate towards and the designer didn’t disappoint, showing criss-crossed and bejeweled strappy sandals, bold bracelets and necklaces, and bright chain-link strapped bags. We spotted two stars in the audience but they seemed to go unnoticed, so I stopped to chat with them both. Allie Grant (aka Isabelle Hodes on Showtime’s Weeds-photo after jump), just fourteen, was proudly wearing Tory Burch shoes,  mentioning that she really loves the designers line. Sean Paul (photo after jump), who’s in town attending many a fashion fete this week, sported his usual braids and shades. He was very cordial, but between the blaring music and his strong accent, I could barely understand a word he said. Follow the jump for more photos.
