Dude, Sweet Chocolate has paired up with Dallas-based candle makers Dylan and Co. to create their very first candle line, inspired by the aromas in their kitchen. The gourmet chocolate shop is selling lunch boxes for the upcoming holiday filled with truffles and a candle and/or mandle. Yes, mandle. You know, in case your ultra-masculine significant other doesn’t feel comfortable burning a candle. The mandle is made with perique tobacco, and vetiver, and the candle smells like tonka, and bergamot. The boxes cost $45.
Empire Baking Company
Sure, flowers are nice. But for some people, nothing says “I love you” quite like a basket of baked goods. Empire Baking Company is offering a bounty of carb-loaded treats for Valentine’s Day including heart-shaped linzer cookies, chocolate chubby cookies, a chocolate brownie gift bag, and more.
The Cultured Cup
The coffee and tea purveyors at The Cultured Cup have crafted something called “The Love Collection” for Valentine’s Day. The tea version of the collection contains romantic blends such as Dark Chocolate Pu’er, Ebony Rose, Love Potion, and Very Cheery. The coffee collection is made of three roasts: buttered toffee, belgian dark chocolate, and their Plaza Blend which is a classic, dark roast coffee.
Emporium Pies
The Oak Cliff pie shop is plating up a “Dr. Love” red velvet chess pie for the holiday. “It tastes like red velvet cake, except with the texture of a brownie, or cheesecake,” an Emporium pie slinger explained. The dessert costs $5 for a slice, or $30 for the entire pie.

Don’t feel like dealing with restaurant reservations this year? Scardello offers the perfect alternative. The artisanal cheese shop is assembling picnic baskets filled with two quarter-pound servings of cheese, dried fruit, nuts, jam, and half a loaf of french bread. Grab some wine from their 150 bottle selection, some salami, or a craft beer or two to take things up a notch. Baskets start at $25.
