For the plant-based eaters and lovers of things that grow, there is the Texas Veggie Fair. For the Howard Stern Show fans, there is Robin Quivers.

The outspoken, 30-year veteran co-host on the Stern show is an outspoken vegan. She ventured into the veggie world after she was plagued with health issues. Her memoir/cookbook, The Vegucation of Robin, went on sale last year.

She will be here in Dallas to sign advanced paperback copies of her book on October 18 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the McKinney Ave Contemporary. As a kick-off to the annual Texas Veggie Fair, Quivers will host a discussion about the virtues of a plant-based diet. Copies of the book will be available to buy, and tickets are free but must be reserved here.

The Veggie Fair focuses on all things plant-based. This 5th-annual event is dog-friendly and family-friendly and will be held at Reverchon Park on October 19. There will be food vendors, a local beer garden, live music, chef demos, yoga, kids’ activities, speakers, vendors of clothing, housewares, and pet supplies. The mission is to educate the community about the destructive effects that some methods of food production can have on animals and the environment, as well as the health benefits that can come from eating a veggie-based diet.
