Just got back from New York and what was the biggest food trend I saw (and tasted)? The humble mac-n-cheese. It was everywhere, almost becoming a joke. One of my favorites was a gussied up four-cheese version topped with fried onions and grilled shrimp at Eatery in Hell’s Kitchen. I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise. Troubling economic times have everyone clamoring for a gooey casserole of comfort. So, with Dallas being a home cooking Mecca, what’s your favorite local mac-n-cheese? The smoked ham M&C at The Porch makes my heart swell with love. Or is that cholestrol?
