Pets Love LAFCO, Too

Santa Maria Novella Lotion and Talc for Dogs and Cats

I am obsessed with LAFCO—their tiny store in Highland Park Village is one of my favorite stops. Though I’m not a big fan of potpourri (the holiday season gets me with too much cinnamon vanilla scent everywhere and makes me want to listen to George Winston’s December); the bin of Santa Maria Novella potpourri in the front just intoxicates me. It’s hard to explain the scent—imagine an exotic Turkish bazaar set in the middle of piney woods—that’s my best shot, and exactly how my house wants to smell. The scent compells me to stay and shop awhile and admire the multi color soap and candle displays that promote a different color and scent for, a) every room in the house, and b) every important avenue in the world. Now, that takes some creativity to concoct a fragrance that conjures up the emotion of walking on Fifth Avenue. So back to pets, they now have  a special powder and lotion that repells mosquitos and makes Spot and Whiskers smell just as good as your home. The flea treatment is brand new—Rufus and Sunny will be happy
