Kaboom Town: For the 30th year in a row, 400,000 spectators will enjoy 1,500 pounds of fireworks choreographed to half-an-hour of patriotic music. As usual, Addison’s nationally acclaimed Kaboom Town will feature a monster of a fireworks show, accompanied by the Cavanaugh Flight Museum and Addison Airport air show—both of which can be enjoyed from anywhere in town. We suggest waiting out the traffic by staying late and catching some free live music in Addison Circle Park. Note that this massive event is held on the evening of July 3, giving you an opportunity to participate in your smaller, local celebrations on actual Independence Day.
Lake Grapevine: If you’re looking for a free spot to catch amazing fireworks this Fourth of July, check out Lake Grapevine. Although the lakeside parks may be closed due to recent increased water levels, you can snag a great view on the Gaylord Texan Resort’s parking garage rooftop, which will have a DJ, or at any of the Grapevine Mills parking areas.
Fort Worth’s Fourth: Fort Worth’s Fourth may be the rowdiest Fourth of July party you can find in North Texas. The fireworks don’t start until 10 pm, but there are plenty of reasons to come early to the all-day celebration at Panther Island Pavilion. You can chill out in an inner tube on the Trinity while listening to a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, or watch some jet ski and fly board shows before the fireworks show begins.
Fair Park Fourth: A Fourth of July with fair rides, games, and a seat in the Cotton Bowl for prime firework viewing might just be the most American thing out there this Independence Day—and it’s held in hot dog heaven.
Plano’s All-American Fourth Fireworks Show: Add some drama to the usual Fourth of July fireworks by tuning into 97.5 KLAK. The station will provide synchronized music for the show, taking these fireworks to another level. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and family for this free, short and sweet event!
Light Up Arlington will blast off July 3 at Founders Plaza.
