Bill Lively Leaving UNT for Job with National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C.

|

It’s getting to be routine: If a few months have gone by, must be time for Bill Lively to announce he’s quitting his job and taking a shinier newer position. This time it’s UNT that the fundraising expert is saying “See ya” to, in order to snag a high-profile development post with the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C.

It wasn’t that long ago, you’ll recall, that Lively told everyone he’d be plunging into raising dough for the University of North Texas as a vice chancellor. And that announcement, you’ll remember, didn’t come too long after he’d agreed to become CEO of the problem-plagued Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Where he stayed for about a minute and a half. Hate to say it, but does anybody see a pattern here? Guess the Geographic Society didn’t.
