Jonathan Daws managed the Dallas-based hedge fund firm Gryphon Partners. He pleaded guily in Aprl 2005 of conspiracy to commit securities fraud. Anyway, Judge Raymond Dearie recently sentenced Daws to 500 hours of community service. “This was a colossal misjudgment on your part, but your family circumstances are very compelling,” the judge said. So he decided not to send him to jail, but added this, “Don’t make a fool out of me.”
