EDWIN TOBOLOWSKY, REST IN PEACE

|

A newspaper-reading FrontBurnervian passes along sad news:

Was the late Edwin S. Tobolowsky, whose obit appears in today’s DMN, the father of Dallas’ own Stephen Tobolowsky? The obit lists “in addition to his son and daughter,…” and quotes the daughter, but does not use a first reference for Stephen. (Perhaps the dwindling number of DMN editors resulted in his omission.) The obit reveals a colorful man who lived an interesting life — check out the films he exec. produced — and perhaps points to the source of Stephen’s creative abilities.

Well said.

UPDATE: Big Bob Wilonsky says, “Uh … Edwin is Stephen’s third cousin, actually.”
