Master baths are getting more outrageous every day. Now combine your morning shower with a moment in the sun. ProSun International, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based company, markets a unique UV-based sun tanning and skin rejuvenation system installed on a shower wall. In other words, you can now both tan and fight wrinkles while you bathe, thanks to the twin powers of Dutch tanning bed technology and NASA research. Here’s how it works: Red light, at wavelengths from 630 to 660 nanometers, penetrates tissue by 8 to 10 millimeters and stimulates the production of collagen, according to Matthew Burns, national sales manager. Ten sessions in the SunShower every other day followed by monthly treatments decreases fine lines, minimizes age spots, and reduces scar tissue. The top-of-the line ProSun SunShower SR Plus retails for $12,900. Tanning units start at $10,900 and install easily in new construction or retro fit into a wall sleeve between two-by-four studs. With 16 cubic feet to vent the fan-cooled air, you’ll be young in no time.
