A native Bostonian hits her stride in Dallas.

Lexi Brawer’s reputation precedes her. Even if you’ve never taken one of her classes, chances are you’ve heard of her carefully crafted playlists and endless words of motivation.

Brawer, a native Bostonian, moved to Dallas about eight months ago to help kick-start the studio’s Preston Hollow branch. She was a SoulCycle devotee for nearly eight years before taking the lead seat, giving her an insight to her riders’ needs.

“My classes are very challenging but upbeat and centered around strong, positive reinforcement,” Brawer says. “I want my riders to leave having tapped into the best versions of themselves.”

Brawer knows that trying something new can be intimidating, so she lifts the mood with comedic finesse.

“I try to take that out of the equation by making them laugh,” she says.

We stopped by SoulCycle’s Uptown studio where Brawer gave us a peek inside her gym bag. From dry shampoo to pressed juice, these are items that enhance her daily routine.

1. Extra Clothes

I generally teach two classes a day, so I always carry a change of clothes. It’s important to change out of wet clothes as soon as possible in order to keep your skin clean and healthy.

2. Larabars

I try to eat within an hour after teaching. Sometimes I don’t have time for a full meal, so I always keep a Larabar in my bag. They sell them at Central Market in Preston Royal, which is close to our Preston Hollow location. They’re all natural and gluten free. (Try the pineapple upside down cake!)

3. Headphones

These headphones were a gift from my sister, and I am obsessed. They’re wireless and allow me to blast my music and dance around my apartment without bothering my neighbors.

4. Laptop

My laptop is my child — I don’t go anywhere without it. I spend countless hours searching for new music and curating playlists with the occasional online shopping spree.

5. Affirmation Cards

Before I moved to Dallas, my mentor/best friend gave me a deck of these. They contain inspirational, but not cheesy affirmations. You shuffle them and pick one a day. I read my affirmation aloud and carry the card in my purse for good vibes all day long. good vibes all day long. good vives a

6. Dior Show Blackout Mascara

This is my No. 1 favorite beauty product — thick, bold, waterproof mascara. I put a little on before class when I want to feel extra glam.

7. Juice

Right around the corner from our newest studio is Buda Juice. Their fresh-pressed juices are to die for. I try to drink one everyday.

8. Sweat Bag

Two classes a day means a lot of wet clothes. To avoid wasting plastic bags, I use my SoulCycle reusable sweat bag. Environmentally friendly and chic.

9. Dry Shampoo

Washing your hair too frequently will leave your locks dehydrated and fragile. That’s why I can’t live without my Kevin Murphy Dry Shampoo.

10. Free Passes

That’s right, I’m always carrying around free passes. So if you see me out and about, come introduce yourself!
