Oh Restaurant Week! Oh Restaurant Week! I do believe you’re almost ending!

Therefore, my dear fuzzy friends, we shall resume our normal weekend programming where I suggest events that’ll spice up your life. Don’t like what I say? Too bad. It’s really hard to receive your hate mail while I’m here in Taiwan, eating my weight in bread and noodles.

Friday

Wait, isn’t crayfish season over? Apparently, IKEA doesn’t care because it’s hosting an all-you-can-eat Swedish crayfish party called a ‘kraftskiva’ today at its Frisco location. Seatings take place at 3 p.m., 5 p.m, and 7 p.m. ($9.99 for adults and $2.49 for kids under 12.)

Hear professional storyteller Elizabeth Ellis cook up some deliciously scary stories during Fright Nite at Vitruvian Park. Bring a picnic or share one of Rockstar Bakeshop’s famous whoopie pies at this kid-friendly event, starting at 8 p.m.

Saturday

Not sure what to do with all those tomatoes in your fridge? Learn how to make tomato pie with Victoria and Robby Hooker at the Coppell Farmers Market on Saturday at 10 a.m. Did I mention this demo is free? Well, folks, no need to spend a single shiny penny of yours.

Nancy already mentioned that Three Dog Bakery is giving away free pupcakes (PUPCAKES!) to anyone who visits the Southlake and Plano locations on Saturday. Apparently, it’s International Pupcake Day, and to celebrate, Three Dog Bakery is making fresh batches of pupcakes edible for both humans and dogs. Whoever invented the word ‘pupcakes’ is a genius.

Sunday

DUO’s hosting a Sunday Chef Mix from 4 to 7 p.m. to help benefit someone in the FLUENT family who just lost his sister to cancer, leaving him four small children in his care. Several Dallas chefs like Joel Harloff from Second Floor and Katherine Clapner from Dude, Sweet Chocolate will provide bites for a taste-around. $50 per person. RSVP at [email protected] or call 214-459-8009.
