Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 855 new COVID-19 cases and 19 deaths on Wednesday.


The State Fair of Texas is emphasizing COVID-19 guidelines including mask requirements in indoor spaces and highly suggesting social distancing, the Dallas Morning News reports. Opening this Friday, September 24th, the State Fair of Texas is expecting to welcome a million or more people into Dallas’ Fair Park during a pandemic. Caution urged as COVID-19 hospitalizations level off for a third week, NBC5 reports. Dallas County Health Director Dr. Philip Huang says the Dallas County COVID-19 threat assessment is still rated at the highest level, Red.“It’s still all dependent on how we respond. We still need to continue with the masking, avoiding crowds, trying to stay physically distant, as well as getting people who have still not received the vaccine to get vaccinated,” says Huang.


Plano and Denton ISD end their school mask mandates after a drop in COVID-19 cases, FOX4 reports. Starting next week, masks are optional to students and staff, but strongly recommended. Plano ISD reports a drop of 500 to 160 active COVID-19 cases in a student body of about 50,000.
