Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,867 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, with four deaths.

Dallas Morning News reports City of Dallas and Dallas County have teamed up to launch a “mega” vaccination site at Fair Park, which has begun to vaccinate the public, targeting those over 75 years of age. In order to access the vaccines, residents can sign up with the county, though vaccine supply is limited to 2,000 vaccinations per day.

Despite the launch of the Fair Park vaccination site, many of the state’s vaccination sites are in white, affluent areas, the Texas Tribune reports. “Out of 140 distribution sites in Dallas County only 10 are located in majority Black census tracts while 37 are in majority Hispanic census tracts,” the report says.

Governor Greg Abbott is encouraging providers to give out all the vaccine they have rather than making sure they have enough for second doses, KERA reports. Abbott wants to give people the immunity the first dose provides (about 52 percent), and is banking on there being more supply when it is needed and patients need a second dose.
