Dallas County reported 1,064 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, with one additional death. The past week saw a record 74 deaths due to the virus, The Dallas Morning News reports.

The past week experienced 20 percent of the 3,958 deaths in Texas due to COVID-19, as cases rise and hospitals fill up around the state, The Texas Tribune reports.
