Mayor Eric Johnson is asking for reports from hospitals on their available beds and ventilators as they prepare for increased numbers of COVID-19 patients. Read more from The Dallas Morning News here.

Dallas now has over 500 COVID-19 patients and 12 deaths, with North Texas as a whole accounting for 1,000 total cases. There has also been several cases in the region’s nursing homes. Read more from WFAA here.

The Texas Tribune reports that a federal judge has blocked Texas’ attempt to ban abortions during the coronavirus outbreak, which was put in place when officials decided that the state’s ban on elective procedures included abortions.

A third police officer has tested positive for coronavirus in Dallas, as over 60 new cases are confirmed today, DMN reports. This is despite the county’s testing centers being closed due to inclement weather.
