Southwestern Health Resources Appoints Several New Executives

Leadership Changes For the North Texas Accountable Care Organization

Southwestern Health Resources has named a Senior Vice President of Data Insight and Innovation, a Chief Market and Payer Relations Officer, and a Vice President of Marketing and Communications. The network is a collaboration between Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern and includes 29 hospitals and over 5,000 physicians.

Brian N. Coffey will be the Senior Vice President, Data Insight and Innovation, Steven Abramson will be a Senior Vice President and the Chief Market and Payer Relations Officer, and Gregory Harrison will be the Vice President of Marketing & Communications.

Coffey previously served as Vice President and Analytics Officer at SWHR, and will continue to use data to improve outcomes, focusing on population health management. He has also served in leadership positions at Censeo Health and JPS Health Network,

“Brian’s experience and expertise are invaluable to furthering Southwestern Health Resources’ goals of being a cutting-edge, data-driven healthcare organization, moving from retrospective reporting to predictive analytics, and ensuring that data is insightful and actionable in support of effective population health management,” said Dr. Andrew Ziskind, Senior Executive Officer of SWHR via release.

Abramson will oversee managed care and value-based care payment strategy across UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources, representing $4.7 billion in at risk contracts. The network serves 650,000 people across 17 counties in North Texas. It was rated the top Accountable Care Network in the country for Medicare Savings in 2018. He served in leadership at Ascension Health and Oscar Health prior to his role with SWHR.

“Steve’s experience serving in senior leadership positions in contracting and payer relations for large, respected national organizations, as well as his expertise in working in both traditional fee-for-service and innovative healthcare payment model environments, will be invaluable to Southwestern Health Resources as we pursue our vison to create a new model of value-based, quality-driven care delivery,” said Ziskind via release.

Harrison is a 20-year veteran in the communication field and will handle SWHR’s marketing communications efforts while managing client relationships, external partners and vendors. He was previously Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc., an integrated health system in Los Angeles, California and the Vice President of Communications for University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio.

“Greg’s experience and expertise in effectively integrating evidenced-based, content-driven digital and traditional healthcare communications and marketing initiatives adds significantly to our ability to promote Southwestern Health Resources – both internally and externally – as a national leader in delivering the next generation of quality, compassionate care,” said Ziskind via release.
