Baylor Scott & White Health has added four new members to the Baylor Scott & White Holdings Board of Trustees.
“As we focus on tackling the challenges and opportunities in healthcare, our board will benefit by the unique perspectives and experiences in business, technology and governance these four new trustees bring,” said Ross McKnight, chairman of Baylor Scott & White Holdings Board of Trustees via release. “Their passion, vision and expertise will energize our efforts to change healthcare for the better.”
Robert Garriott, Rafael Garza, Johnita Jones and Charlene Lake make up the new board members.
Robert Garriott comes from the computer gaming and market development world, founding ORIGIN Systems Inc., which was eventually sold to Electronic Arts. He has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine and E&Y Consulting.
Rafael Garza founded and is the managing director of Bravo Equity Partners, a Fort Worth private equity firm that focuses on companies in the United States and Mexico. He is also on the board of VBT Financial Corp., Vantage Bank Texas and Atmos Energy Corp. and is on the boards of trustees of Texas Christian University, the Fort Worth Art Association (Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth) and the Fort Worth Art Association Endowment Foundation.
Johnita Jones is vice president and southern operations manager for ExxonMobil Pipeline Co. and oversees more than 500 employees.She is president of the board of directors for the Texas Conference for Women and is on the Houston Children’s Museum advisory board.
Charlene Lake is chief sustainability officer and senior vice president for corporate responsibility at AT&T, Inc. and has governance roles with the National Public Affairs Council and the National Urban League. She has advised America’s Promise Alliance, and the Institute of Economic Empowerment for Women, and is vice chair of the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
