|

U.S. News & World Report released their 2019-20 Best Children’s Hospitals specialty rankings, and several Dallas-Fort Worth hospitals were included among the top positions in various specialties. Children’s Health was nationally ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties, and it tied with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children as the number 2 program in the country for pediatric orthopedics.

Children’s Health was the only hospital nationally ranked in 10 out of 10 specialties, its second year in a row to do so. In seven of the ten specialties, Children’s ranking improved.

“For more than 100 years, Children’s Health has been dedicated to making life better for children by providing high-quality care through innovative technology, groundbreaking research and life-changing treatments. Today, we proudly celebrate this accomplishment with our team members and colleagues at UT Southwestern who helped us reach this significant achievement,” Durovich says, per release.

The study highlighted 50 hospitals in 10 pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology & heart surgery, diabetes & endocrinology, gastroenterology & gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology & neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology & lung surgery and urology. Patient outcomes, mortality, infection rates and other clinical resources and compliance with best practices were all factored in to determine the top facilities.
