Dallas County Has Its First West Nile Case of the Year. A Far North Dallas resident was diagnosed with West Nile neuroinvasive disease, the more debilitating form of the illness. Three people died from West Nile last year. A mosquito in Flower Mound tested positive late last week.

Two Bodies Found in Creeks Yesterday Morning. A witness reported a body floating in a creek near the 5700 block of Scyene Road. Thirteen minutes and five miles later, police responded to another call — in the Rochester Park neighborhood — where another body was also found floating in a creek. The latter case, at least, is being treated as a homicide.

Uber Driver Arrested at Love Field For Dragging an Off-Duty Police Officer. The officer was working for the airport and directing traffic. He was talking to an Uber driver, Jeffrey Wilks, about a traffic violation when Wilks sped off, dragging him about 10 feet. Wilks is under arrest, for that and a drug charge.

Dallas Comes Up Short in Summer League Finale. Dennis Smith Jr. had 21 and the Mavs almost came all the way back from down 23 to Lonzo Ball and the Lakers, but they couldn’t quite get there. Good run by the young guys, though, winning 10 in a row.
