Things To Do In Dallas Tonight: Mar. 26

Cher!

Hello, Cher.
Hello, Cher.

Wednesday already.

First of all, Cher is here at the American Airlines Center. The 67-year-old performer is on a solo tour promoting Closer to the Truth, her first new album in 12 years. Expect so much glitter.

At the Dallas Museum of Art, two authors share their stories for Arts and Letters Live. Both Claire Messud and Meg Wolitzer enjoyed critical success this past year with new novels that explore the inner lives of many characters, with special care to complex women grasping for or fantasizing about something beyond the hand they’ve been dealt. The authors will sign copies of their books, The Woman Upstairs and The Interestings, respectively, after a discussion that revolves around the theme “the ties that bind.”

Finally, SMU Meadows Dance Ensemble begins performances of their spring recital that will feature three contemporary pieces: Chalabati, inspired by the culture of a Moroccan indigenous people; Cold Virtues, a dramatic interpretation of the novel Dangerous Liasons; and D-Man in the Waters, created in honor of Demian Acquavella, a dancer who died of AIDS. If you can wait until Saturday, the evening will also include a tribute to Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s retired founder, Ann Williams.
