I went to Nick & Sam’s for dinner last night and at the next table over sat Patrick Ewing (he is MASSIVE) with Houston Rocket’s Tracy McGrady, tall but lanky, and joined by Spud Webb. They had several other guests as well. Then 30 minutes later, I was sitting at the bar having a glass of wine and this guy stands next to me with a large diamond-encrusted cross, asking “where Spud is,” I assume it’s a hanger-on that’s heard the news, and am kind of looking at him, when he asks “if I dig his cross?” “Sure,” I say, thinking, whatever. Anyway, turns out to be Martin Lawrence. I left around 10:00 pm and they were still there. Guess they all came in town for the game tonight. I think Ewing is asst. coach of the Rockets, or something.
Indeed, he is.
