You people really know your peacocks. The consensus seems to be that the peacocks live at the nearby horse stables. Here is but one of many peacock-knowing FrontBurnervian’s take on it:
The peacocks are “pets” of the stable. The stable owner raises them to eat/scare the snakes that scare his horses. They also eat the rats and mice that attract the snakes. Mating season is a mess–try explaining it to your 3-year-old.
