2017 Thanksgiving Guide: Where to Pre-Order Meals and Dine Out

Mudhen Meat and Greens, the popular, healthful eatery at the Dallas Farmer’s Market opens for Thanksgiving Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. offering family-style turkey day dinners prepared by Chef Suki Otsuki to enjoy at Mudhen or at home…Thanksgiving Day meal served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oven roasted turkey breast finished with pan jus is served along side Harvest Market salad, cauliflower gratin, Mudhen sweet potato mash, balsamic glazed Brussel sprouts or green beans, Hippie Bread dressing with sage pork sausage and orange-cranberry butter ($175, serves 4-6). Add Chef Suki’s Bourbon Pecan Pie for $25. Mudhen will also offer Thanksgiving family-style meals to-go ordered at least 48 hours in advance for pickup on Wednesday, November 22 between 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. To place an order call (214) 698-7000.”


Eddie V’s Fort Worth and Dallas will be open this year from 11 a.m.until 8 p.m. offering its full dinner menu in addition to the executive chef’s take on a traditional Thanksgiving meal. In addition to serving its signature dishes, Eddie V’s will also offer sliced turkey with pan gravy, baby French green beans with sun dried tomatoes, brioche sage stuffing, roasted butternut squash, cranberry chutney and hand-whipped potatoes for $39 per adult/$15 per child. For dessert, Eddie V’s will offer a pumpkin pie tartlet with whipped cream and praline sauce for an additional $11.”


Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum is now taking online orders…choose from traditional smoked turkey, smoked ham with apricot-molasses glaze, spice-crusted beef tenderloin, whole smoked brisket, racks of ribs, handmade smoked sausage links, Southern cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese and peach cobbler as well as all of Pecan Lodge’s holiday inspired sides ($15-$145). Last day for ordering is Friday, November 17 at 5 p.m. and orders must be picked up on Wednesday, November 22 between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the new Pecan Lodge Catering Facility.” Shop here.


“Popular vegan eatery Nature’s Plate is serving up Thanksgiving suppers to go ($20-$75). Acorn Squash with quinoa wild rice stuffing, green bean casserole, baked sweet potatoes and apples, mashed potatoes with gravy and choice of pumpkin pie or cheesecake—feeds up to four people. Family-sized a la carte sides and desserts are also available for order here.” Order by Friday, November 17 at 7 p.m. for pickup. Pickups run Tuesday from 3 p.m to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.






Texas de Brazil (2727 Cedar Springs Rd.) will be open at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day and has added roasted turkey and gravy, sweet potato casserole and cranberry sauce to the extensive menu that suits every family member’s taste.”
