How does our weather determine what you eat?

Whoa, Nellie. You folks have some great ideas for cold weather food. Last week, I posed the question: “What food does your body crave when the temperature falls and the light changes?” Here are a few of your replies left on my Facebook page.

Pot roast. Tuscan white bean soup. Mutton Masala. ”Soup, soup. and more soup. Hot bread and butter.” Mexican food. Chili. Squash dishes. “Pho, wait – queso, oh or a cassoulet, or home made chiles rellenos, or French onion soup maybe.” “ Haleem, Pho, Bun Bo Hue, Nihari, Khao Soi, Tom Yum Gai, Sichuan Hot Pot, Shabu Shabu, Mongolian Hot Pot to name a few.” “White chili.” Chicken Tikka Masala. “Frito Pie and old school crock pot beef stew.”

I’m looking at the weather forecast and it looks like we’re going to have to wait a while for cooler temperatures. Silly Dallas weather.

Did anyone try something new this week? I stopped by The Art of Wine, a tiny wine bar in Preston Forest Shopping Center. They offer a small, but interesting (and growing) selection of wines.
