We’re turning the spotlight on food-centric gifts over the next 12 days leading up to Christmas. Fruit, coffee, cheese, kitchen gadgets, various cuts of meat, jellies, cakes, even specialty olive oils will be part of the mix. Whether you’re looking to enhance your holiday spread, or surprise your favorite uncle (who also happens to be a fantastic cook), we’ve got something to whet your appetite.
The cheesemongers at Scardello are building gorgeous cheese platters for the holiday season. Customers can choose from a vast selection of artisan cheeses, dried cherries and apricots, nuts, and miniature pickles.
I was informed that the shop just got in their last batch of Vacherin Mont d’Or (a creamy cows milk wrapped in spruce) earlier this week. “It’s a pretty amazing stinky party cheese. Some say the best cheese made. You eat it like a can of soup.” cheesemonger Lance Lynn explains. They have eight wheels unspoken for. It could make a nice addition to any holiday spread.
