On Wednesday, Feb. 24, D CEO will host four of the region’s leading thinkers, pioneers, and executives paving the way for more women in STEM during a virtual morning panel discussion.

Presented in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, the goal of the multiplatform program is to support the representation of women in technology, give a megaphone to leaders to share their stories, and share ideas for building a platform for the future.

The candid conversation will address what’s needed to close the Dallas-Fort Worth gender gap in STEM, with insights from those in the business community who are leading the way. Participants include:

Valerie Freeman, CEO of Imprimis Group, a family of specialized companies that provides staffing, search, outsourcing, project management, and consulting services. Freeman also is a founder of the Texas Women Ventures family of funds and vice chair of the board of Prime Women Media. She is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alliance of Technology and Women.

Marissa Horne, vice president of technology for financial services at Capital One, a Fortune 500 company. Horne oversees technology governance, labor strategy, employee engagement, learning, and development, communications, and the business unit’s cyber, tech, data, and risk program. She also serves as a strategic adviser for the enterprise’s Blacks in Tech business resource group for Capital One.

Janet Lee, vice president and head of mobile marketing at Samsung Electronics America, which markets a broad range of consumer electronics, information systems, and home appliance products. Lee oversees Samsung’s mobile device marketing for the U.S. market, and is responsible for developing and executing brand strategies for the company’s portfolio of mobile devices.

Gail Warrior, chair, CASPR Group, which offers indoor surface and air purification solutions that eliminate pathogens, including SARS CoV-2 from commercial environments. A wildly successful entrepreneur, she also has been the driving force behind Warrior Elements and Warrior Group. She has been recognized with more than 50 awards for her achievements, from organizations that include EY, Inc. magazine, and Black Enterprise.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Gillea Allison, publisher of D CEO.
