While there’s no replacing Freddie Mercury, if you’re going to continue to tour and need a frontman with the pipes to do him justice, Adam Lambert has proven time and again he’s up for the job. The former American Idol contestant has a string of his own hits, but he has toured with the the surviving members of the venerated glam rock band for the last 12 years. Festival at the Switchyard

Carrollton’s Festival at the Switchyard will bring headliners Collective Soul and Fuel to downtown Carrollton, along with many local acts. Mudhoney
November 4, 9 p.m.| Sundown at the Granada
Mudhoney—the band that begot the Seattle grunge sound with Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Nirvana—will make a trek to Dallas Saturday night. While their musical peers took to arenas and stadiums, Mudhoney stuck to Seattle and churned out albums. April’s Plastic Eternity, is the band’s 11th album to date. Hooveriii opens. Get tickets
