Queen + Adam Lambert

November 3, 8 p.m.| American Airlines Center

While there’s no replacing Freddie Mercury, if you’re going to continue to tour and need a frontman with the pipes to do him justice, Adam Lambert has proven time and again he’s up for the job. The former American Idol contestant has a string of his own hits, but he has toured with the the surviving members of the venerated glam rock band for the last 12 years. They’ll play their second of two shows in Dallas Friday, singing “We Are the Champions” just in time for that Rangers win.  Get tickets

Legends of Hip Hop

November 3, 8 p.m.| Texas Trust Credit Union Theater, Grand Prairie

If you’re feeling nostalgic but also a little elderly, a theater with seats is probably a great way to see all your favorite hip-hop legends. The Legends of Hip Hop tour will bring DJ Quik, Juvenile, 8Ball & MJG, Goodie Mob, Tha Dogg Pound, Scarface, and Bun B to Grand Prairie.  Get tickets

Festival at the Switchyard

November 4, 11 a.m.| Downtown Carrollton

Carrollton’s Festival at the Switchyard will bring headliners Collective Soul and Fuel to downtown Carrollton, along with many local acts. The entire event—with the exception of food and drink—is free, including parking, rides, and games. Downtown Carrollton is also just steps from the DART Green Line station. Get details

Mudhoney

November 4, 9 p.m.| Sundown at the Granada

Mudhoney—the band that begot the Seattle grunge sound with Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Nirvana—will make a trek to Dallas Saturday night. While their musical peers took to arenas and stadiums, Mudhoney stuck to Seattle and churned out albums. April’s Plastic Eternity, is the band’s 11th album to date. Hooveriii opens. Get tickets

Jazz Under the Stars

November 4, 7 p.m.| Klyde Warren Park

The weather will be darn near perfect Saturday night for Jazz Under the Stars. Catch 2022 Grammy nominee Carmen Bradford with a 17-piece band, plus Booker T.
