AM I PARANOID?

|

I just got a glass of water in the kitchen here and noticed something that seemed unusual: bubbles. Bubbles that did not immediately pop. And then I remembered something I’d read this morning in the Metro briefs:

Fire-retardant foam used to fight a six-alarm Love Field-area warehouse blaze last week apparently has seeped into Dallas’ water system, city officials said Monday. The city is conducting tests, but if the soapy substance some residents have noticed in their water is indeed fire retardant, “its presence in the water poses no threat to the health of humans, animals, or vegetation,” a statement from the city read.

Why do I have trouble believing this? You spray a chemical foam on a fire fueled partly by dangerous chemicals. That foam gets into the water. And you’re telling me the water is safe to drink?

Any health-conscious FBvians out there who can shed some light on this?
